Who We Are
About Douthit Electrical
Family-oriented electrical service built on honest work, fair pricing, and respect for every home.
Chuck's Story
Built on workmanship, family, and word of mouth
From a first opportunity through family to a business built one customer at a time, Chuck's path has shaped the way Douthit Electrical serves customers today.
Started in the Trade
Chuck entered the electrical trade right out of high school at the encouragement of his grandfather, J.W. Morris, a foreman with Tarheel Electric. Early projects included work at major facilities in Charlotte, where he learned the value of quality workmanship and doing the job right the first time.
Licensed in North Carolina
After gaining experience in electrical maintenance and industrial wiring, Chuck earned his North Carolina electrical license while studying at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.
Founded in 1990
During a slowdown in the economy around the First Gulf War, Chuck began taking on electrical jobs for local homeowners. What started as a necessity grew into Douthit Electrical through steady work, word of mouth, and repeat customers.
Still Family-Oriented
Family has been part of the business from the beginning. Chuck's father, Ed, helped with referrals and after-hours support before joining full time in 2002, serving until his passing in 2020. Today, Chuck continues the work with his son, Caleb, who grew up spending time on his Pop Pop's truck and later joined full time after graduating from Lake Norman High School in 2022. Caleb has passed both his residential and limited qualifying exams.
